Oh Oscar!

Honestly, I wasn't super impressed by a whole lot of the dresses this year, but never the less, I still had a few favorites!

Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford
I think she always looks gorgeous, and this dress was definitely no exception. So simple and so classic. Not a huge fan of the cape though....too Star Wars-esque in my opinion.

Emma Stone in Giambattista Valli
Love the red and love, love, love the bow!

Kate Mara in Jack Guisso Couture
Could there be a better combination than a soft pale pink and lots of intricate beading? Absolutely not!

Maria Menounos in ???
I wasn't able to find who made this dress, but that doesn't make it any less gorgeous! I love the color and the Grecian style of the dress.

What were your hits and misses at the awards?

Have a great week!

Top 5 Tuesday - Romantic Movies

Better late than never, right?

Happy Valentine's Day!! I honestly can't think of a better day to celebrate my love for the color pink!

Just Peachy

Top 5 Romantic Movies
As if there could possibly be a better category for me. I am the biggest sucker for a chick flick that you will ever meet. I could probably expand this list to be a top 100, but I promise I'll just keep it to five today.

1. The Notebook - Such a classic and it never ever ever will get old. Doesn't even need explaining. This should be on every top 5 list ;)

2. The Vow - Saw it and loved it, although I was a little disappointed with the ending. I would have definitely done something different with it...but the producers never asked for my input. I know...strange, right? Plus I have the jacket that Rachel McAdams' character wore in the scene where she's telling her dad that she's quitting law school again. I freaked out a little...NBD.

3. The Proposal - Okay first of all Ryan Reynolds is in it and as if it needs a second of all, I just think the story is so cute. Plus I wouldn't mind living in that house in Alaska, having a little fluff-ball named Kevin or having Betty White be my crazy dancing grandma.

4. 13 Going On 30 -  This is the movie that made me decide that I wanted to work at a magazine one day. Throw in a few excellent dance scenes {can anyone say ice, ice baby?} and you've automatically got me sucked in. And I just love Jennifer Garner so this is an obvious fave. {I almost always cry tears of joy at the end too when she goes back in time and then ends up marrying Matt...too cute}.

5. Love and Other Drugs - Jake Gyllenhaal could literally play any role in any movie and you would still find me in front of the TV drooling. I heard of a lot of people who didn't like this movie and I didn't particularly care for Anne Hathaway playing the female character, but I LOVE the storyline and, like I believe I mentioned earlier, Jake.

So pretty much what we can conclude from my selection for the most part is that any movie starting with "the" and ending in some sort of romantic, love-related noun will be an automatic favorite in my book.

However, one movie that will never ever be seen on my favorites is Titanic. The whole concept of sinking ships and large amounts of people drowning to death just kinda creeps me out. I know that the overarching theme of the movie is more than that, and it's supposed to be about unbreakable love, but it just doesn't do much for me. Add in the fact that it's like a bajillion hours long and my attention span is about 1/20th of that and you can pretty much count me out. Also can we just talk about how Jack looks like he's 18 and Kate looks like she's pushing 30? Um, just no.... Ok I'm done & sorry to any Titanic lovers out there whom I may have offended.

And of course, I'm linking up with Rachel at Just Peachy!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Valentine's Day :)

Daily Card Project

If I could just spend the rest of my life being crafty or scrapbooking, I would be beyond satisfied. For as long as I can remember I have been into crafts. My friend Sarah and I started our obsession when we met in summer camp after first grade. We would go to Zany Brainy to fill up our material stash from the dollar section, {Anyone else remember this? It was literally a creative 7 year-old's heaven!} and then would go home and "organize" our supplies into our tackle box and create whatever we could with pipe cleaners, sequins and beads. We were always scheming what we could "sell" and how to be young, crafty entrepreneurs. But I digress...

Anyways what I'm getting at here is that I've absolutely loved creating things ever since, so when one of my friends showed me Elise Blaha's blog and I stumbled across her "Daily Card" project, I knew I wanted to jump in. Everyday for 10 months she decorated a playing card based on a certain event that happend or how she was feeling. By the end of this project she had 300 cards that put an extremely creative twist on a journal.

Love it!

When I was home a couple of weekends ago, I found an old pack of playing cards and rounded up some pretty papers to start my take on the project. I'll be sure to keep you update with what I create!

Here's Day 1:

Simple, but had to start out with my favorite quote, obvi :)

Alright, I'm On

I've jumped on the bandwagon.

I think it's safe to say by the fact that I stayed up until two last night to finish The Hunger Games, that I can now be considered a fan. I bought the second book in the series, Catching Fire, today and I can't wait to start into it later tonight. It's by no means an intellectual read and I'm pretty sure it was initially geared towards the younger crowd, but all my friends have been raving about it and I couldn't stand to miss out any longer.

And since the movie is coming out, I took a look at the trailer. While it looks exciting and I'm sure I'll go see it, I think I'm more of a fan of the books, at least for now. I like the characters and the settings that I imagined in my head better than how the movie is presenting them.

Have you read the series? Do you think you'll enjoy the book or the movie better? I'd love to meet some fellow fans :)

Just Remember...

Such a great reminder that sometimes things don't work out the first time around, but there's no limit to the number of times you can keep trying!

Happy Wednesday :)

Short But Sweet

Hello All,
I promise. I am alive.

Although I'm only half-way through midterms {since when are they 2 weeks long?!} and they're only going to get more intense from here, I'm taking on a challenge.

I'm going to blog everyday this week.

Let's call it the Blog-A-Day challenge {groundbreaking, I know}. So if you're like me and occasionally tend to put blogging on the back-burner, join in with me and challenge yourself to post everyday!
I'm excited. I have some ideas brewing in my head for some posts, so I can't wait to see how they'll come along :)

Sorry for being so absent, but I'm baaaaack!

Spool No.72

I came across this fabulous site when I was browsing Pinterest one day {what else?}. Spool No.72 has clothing and accessories that I would describe as preppy and girly meets vintage, and their prices are EXTREMELY affordable!

As soon as I visited the website I wanted everything I saw {not unusual, thank goodness I usually have fairly decent self-control!}. The soft colors and feminine, but fun styles pulled me in to pratically everything they have for sale!

{Unfortunately this one was so pretty, it sold out, but it's still fun to look!}

Have a fabulous Wednesday!

Spool No.72 is not sponsoring me for this post. I just really like them :)
