Stressing out should be my full-time job. {Anyone willing to hire me?} I stress myself out like nobody's business on a daily basis, mainly because of my tendency to want to predict the future and create perfect scenarios in my head. When said scenarios don't end up coming true or don't go according to plan--which they often times don't--I freak. Major.

Right now I'm applying for internships this summer and every time I'm getting ready to hit submit or send, I'm practically shaking, and the thought of interviewing is enough to make me want to throw-up in itself. So of course I worry. Worry that I'm not good enough, that I'll never be qualified enough, that I'll never get hired and gain experience, and as a result end up selling Tupperware door to door for the rest of my life. Disclaimer: If selling Tupperware is your job, I have no problem with you. It's just not my ultimate goal

Once all these thoughts enter my brain and seem to take up a permanent residence, I usually end up calling my mom, sobbing about how I'm such a failure. Our phone calls follow the same pattern every time:
I call in mass hysteria. She comforts me. I retort back with answers to how she's wrong about everything. She gets mad at me for being such a Negative Nelly {rightfully so} and yells some sense in to me. I realize she's right {yet again} and apologize profusely because I can't stand when someone is either mad or disappointed in me. We talk civilly again where I convince both of us that I'm going to step it up and become a more positive thinker.

If you have gotten this far and have decided that I'm certifiably insane, I completely understand.

But those conversations get me thinking. I would LOVE to be able to claim that I am a glass half-full person, but admitting that would have to be considered flat-out lying. The truth is I tend to think negative things, which is terribly horrible {terribly horrible?}. Basically I'm writing this to hold myself accountable. To promise to no one but myself {and maybe my momma} that I'm going to stop worrying about every darn thing and instead of thinking about what could go wrong, imagine what could go right. I realize it's okay to worry every now and then--we wouldn't be human if we didn't, but I need to teach myself and learn how to not let my worries get in the way of life.

How do you deal with stress and worrying?

Holding myself accountable starting now,

I have a tabs problem addiction.

At any given time I have my browser bar filled with various web pages. In fact, at the moment, I have three different web browsers open {Firefox, Safari & Chrome, obvi}. Firefox hates me and just gives me the spinning rainbow circle of Mac doom constantly, Chrome refuses to play any of my YouTube videos, and luckily, for the time being, Safari seems to be putting up with my antics. And yes I just counted all the tabs...there's 43 of em.

No need to remind me how crazily insane I am. I know it and I've accepted it, but hey admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery, right? Who knows, maybe one day I'll actually be able to close my internet browser at night and power down my computer instead of simply shutting the lid *gasp*. But probably not. This is just how I work.

Do any of you keep all of your tags open constantly?

Top 5 Tuesday - Spring!

Just as I do nearly every single Tuesday {what can I say, I like routine}, I'm linking up with Rachel at Just Peachy to share the five things that get me giddy about spring!

Just Peachy

1. The fact that summer comes after it.
Seriously though, there's only 73 days left until school's out...

summer loving
2. Cute colors.
I am love, love, loving the peach and mint green colors that are all over the place this spring.

3. White jeans.
Makes any outfit instantly 10 times cuter. Of course, not before Easter though...just kidding, I've already broken this rule; I couldn't resist.

4. Gorgeous weather.
Especially this year. It's been unseasonably warm, as I'm sure anyone who walks out their door on a daily basis can affirm, but I just thought I'd clarify. It's nice enough that you don't need a jacket and can rock a cute pair of shorts, but at the same time, it's still cool enough that you don't look like you just left Bikram Yoga the second you step outside. And along with gorgeous weather comes pretty flowers!

5. Trench Coats and Ballet Flats
Besides the fact that they make a perfect pair, these are two items that I could buy nonstop.

How perfect is this entire outfit and why is it not in my closet?

Spring Break

Spring Break is officially over and it's now time for me to come back to the real world where my life will be consumed with completing trivial {in my opinion at least} assignments for the next ten weeks. If it were up to me I would be done with school and be moving on to doing something that I really love. But it is not up to me, and I still have two years and ten weeks left until graduation {I'm totally not counting or anything}.

I had a fabulous spring break, despite not traveling anywhere, which is quite alright since it ended up being in the 80's for the entire week!

- I saw the Hunger Games and got to drool over Peeta on the big screen
Oh, where are you? I'm currently planning our future wedding. {Kidding...maybe....}

- I dressed up as the Easter Bunny for five hours, which actually is as awful as it sounds. Never again. It was hot and itchy and I had a piece of hair stuck to my face for the majority of the time. There were some really stinking cute kids though, and I think I only scared a couple of them with my insanely creepy rubber face.

- I voted for the first time!

- I caught up with high school friends

- I helped plan and work a raffle to benefit Breast Cancer {gotta get that event planning experience!}

- I spent an obnoxious amount of money on textbooks for next quarter.

- I spent lotsa time with my sister! We're hilarious together {at least we think so, anyways}.

But most importantly,

- I relaxed!!

While I didn't do nearly anything that was on the to-do I had come up with for break, I'm glad that I had a week to spend being a complete bum :)

Back to reality today :(

May the Odds Be Ever in Your Favor

It's here, it's here, IT'S HERE!!

Yes, today is the day when I will revert into my crazy, teenage fangirl mode {let's be honest, have I ever really left that stage?} because today is the day that The Hunger Games premiers. Unlike everybody and their brother, however, I did not see it at midnight and will have to wait until later this evening to stare gapingly at the enormous IMAX screen, wondering why on earth Peeta doesn't actually exist in real life.

I am hoping know that it will be so fantastic that I'll be back to see it again and then later buy it on DVD because I just won't be able to get enough. It's gotten pretty good reviews and it's one of the few movies that I'm actually glad that it's longer two hours. Honestly, it could be about five hours and I think I would be perfectly content ;). I'm super duper excited to see the movie, how it compares to the books, if it will live up to my expectations, and of course PEETA!

Did anyone see the movie last night? What did you think?!

Top 5 Tuesday - Books!

Nerd Alert: I love reading! I'm that girl who will convince herself that she'll be fine on three hours of sleep so that she can stay up until four reading (and of course I'm dead the next day. Every single time!).

This week I'm linking up with Rachel at Just Peachy to share my top 5 favorite books!

Just Peachy

1. I'm gonna be real original here and go with The Hunger Games Series. I started reading this series about a month ago and I read all three books in one weekend. I couldn't stop. I'm currently reading them a second time around and am anxiously awaiting the movie. I would definitely have to call these my current favorite book(s), however the one I enjoyed the most of all of them would have to be Catching Fire.

2. The Great Gatsby. I was so excited to hear that this is being turned into a movie. I can't wait to see how it turns out!

3. To Kill a Mockingbird. Like everyone in the entire United States of America, I had to read this for school, but it was a book that I did not mind reading one bit!

4. The Lucky One. This book is also being turned into a movie starring Zac Efron. Need I say more? But in all honesty I read this in about two days because I just had to keep finding out what would happen next!

Aaaannnnd finally....
5. Harry Potter, of course. Such classics. I know that if I'm ever in a rut and can't decide on what to read, I can basically pick up any Harry Potter book and get lost in it for a while.

What are your favorite books? I seriously love, love, love getting book recommendations and would love to try anything that you guys suggest!

I am absolutely swimming in school work as I pepare for finals next week, so I've decided to take this week off from blogging to focus on everything. I plan on coming back full steam next week with several new posts though!

Have a great week everyone :)

Friday Five

Five things that have gotten me through this week!
1. Ice cream is ALWAYS a must for me and lately I've been craving it pretty much non-stop.
2. When I don't feel like drinking straight-up coffee or dishing out a small fortune for a latte, green tea from Starbucks is the perfect choice for me!
3. These are a no-brainer, but especially for this week since it was finally starting to get warmer out and I felt like I was running all around campus constantly.
4. I was recovering from a pretty nasty cold this week, so all my naps {and trust me, there were several} included my big faux fur blanket from Target. SO comfy!
5. Painting my nails is a huge stress reliever for me and I change my nail color often. I'm over the dark winter colors and am totally ready for bright, fun colors!

Have a great weekend!!
